Kevin Pepper

Kevin Pepper is a professional photographer and co-founder of Akari Photo Tours. He has spent more than 14 years putting photographers into situations where they can succeed on over 125 workshops.

His photography has taken him from the plains of Africa to the streets of Paris, from remote northern landscapes to the mountains and deserts of Mongolia. Photographing such a wide range of subjects has shaped the way he teaches. Kevin helps photographers understand light, composition, timing, and how to create images that say more than “I was there.”

What guests often appreciate most about traveling with Kevin is how invested he is in their experience and their photography. He takes time to understand what each photographer wants from a workshop, then works throughout the trip to put them in the right place, in the right light, at the right time. His clients’ photography comes before his own, and that approach has built strong loyalty over the years: 50% of the photographers who travel with Kevin have joined him on two workshops, while 30% have traveled with him on three or more workshops.

Kevin believes the best workshops are about more than great locations. They are about learning, laughter, shared experiences, and coming home with images you are proud of. That is why so many guests trust him and return to travel with him again and again. That kind of trust is not something he takes lightly. It comes from caring about the client experience at every stage of the journey, from preparation before the trip to support in the field to helping guests return home with photographs they are proud of.
